Summer Camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation is nearly here.  Please read the following for details and how to get ready.

Please click on the links below for Important Summer Camp Paperwork:

Summer Camp Packing List 2019:  Make sure you bring your rain gear!
Whitewater Waiver (Must Sign):  Bring with you on Sunday!
BSA Medical Form:  Please provide 2 copies of sections A, B, & C, immunization records, and copies of both sides of insurance card
Prescription Medication Dosing Form:  (please bring this form, and medication, in a ziplock back labeled with scout’s name). Remember to bring extra Epi Pens should you require them!

Cellphones:  Scouts are not allowed to bring any electronic devices with them to camp, including cell phones.
Knives:  First year scouts will be earning their “totin” chip as part of the camp instruction. If a first year scout wishes to bring a knife, the scout MUST surrender the knife, preferably in a quart freezer bag with their name on the bag, to one of the adult leaders prior to boarding the bus. The knife will be returned to the scout at a special campfire ceremony AFTER the scout has earned their “totin” chip.
Hammocks:  Scouts may bring hammocks. A hammock area will be identified by the Scoutmaster at camp. Prior to hanging a hammock, a scout must promise the Scoutmaster to follow any rules the scoutmaster determines are necessary to assure scout safety. Any failure to follow the hammock rules will result in the hammock being returned to the trailer and there to remain until the troop returns to Mt. Bethel.  There will be no “stacking” of hammocks. The hammock must not be at a height greater than the scout’s chest. There are no knives allowed in the hammock area (violation of this rule results in the loss of the knife and hammock for the duration).
Medical Forms:  Please note in order for Scouts and Adults to go to SummerCamp we must have no later than Friday, June 21st the following information (TWO COPIES):

  • Completed Medical Forms 680-001 Part A, B and C
  • Immunization Record with dates
  • Front and Back copies of your insurance cards

Medications:  Please have the Prescription Medication Dosage Form completed and into a large zip-lock back with all prescription and non-prescription medicine.  If you have an Epi Pen, please bring two (2) of them.  One to keep with the scout and one to keep with the Troop medical officer.

Travel Logistics:

Scouts gather at 8:30am sharp on Sunday June 23rd in Class A’s, closed toed shoes and with their full water bottles. All Scouts need to bring a bag lunch to eat upon arrival and registration at camp. Class A uniform required for trip to camp.
Our meeting place remains the parking lot in front of BBQ One at 4944 Lower Roswell Road – just east of the intersection of Lower Roswell Road and Johnson Ferry Road.
We will check Scouts in, go over medication requirements, answer questions, organize gear and take a Troop photo.
IMPORTANT You will need to check in any prescription or OTC medications that your Scout will need to take while at Camp. See the top of this post for the Medication Dosage Form and bring the completed form with you on Sunday morning.  Summer Camp is not a good time to take a vacation from regular medications…
IMPORTANT You will need to sign the whitewater rafting permission slip – see link. Please print and bring a signed copy on Sunday morning.
The bus arrives at 9:30am and we depart at 10am sharp.   A late departure will mean a late check-in (and longer lines…and less time for fun…) on the first day.  Please show up at 8:30am sharp.
Logistics for Saturday June 29th:  It is estimated that Scouts will return between 12:30 and 2:00 on SATURDAY June 29th.  The bus will drop the Scouts off at the Church in front of the Athletic Center (CAC). We will convene at the Scout Hut as a group in order to offload troop gear. Parents should wait in the lot in front of the CAC for their Scouts to return from the Scout Hut after unloading Troop gear.   Many hands make light work.  This takes 30 minutes with the full Troop helping and a few hours if leaders (and their sons) are left to handle it alone.  We will use the REMIND app to alert parents on the arrival time on June 29th.QUESTIONS:
